Help Us Bring Sarah and her Family Home from Mexico to NH
In 2017 Sarah moved down to Mexico after living in New York City for some years after college. Always an adventure, life brought her a beautiful little girl, now a sweet inquisitive 4 year old, and a loving dog who will be 9 years old this Summer. During pregnancy and postpartum she and her daughter Ruah experienced several deeply traumatic and destabilizing events. While navigating through those tough times, Sarah has been working steadily to provide a loving stable life for Ruah. Raising a child in the best of circumstances is a challenge. Sarah has been doing this as a single mother, recovering from trauma and unable to leave Mexico for more than a couple visits each year due to battling legal issues.
Sarah has successfully worked as a remote contractor for several companies as she built her life abroad, and formed a structure to support her little family. This past July she unexpectedly lost her main source of income and has not been able to regain consistent financial stability.
By what seemed like a twist of fate, and a small miracle, Sarah received an opportunity to work for a new company in New Hampshire who would assist her in pursuing a masters degree, furthering her career and ability to give Ruah the life she wants.
We all thought Sarah and Ruah were coming home in February, but they have since experienced some setbacks and are in need of support to help them get through this final stretch.
As with absolutely everything these days, this next step comes with many costs and fees as they work toward relocating their entire lives across two countries, as well as living day to day while they wait for their case to be heard by a judge in Mexico. Due to the circumstances there are legal requirements moving Ruah back home, requiring Sarah to hire a lawyer. The cost of this relocation is weighing heavy on Sarah’s whole family but she is determined to find a way to make it happen so she can create security and stability for her daughter and her own future.
For anyone who knows their story, this truly is a huge step toward healing and peace for a family that has lived in turmoil for so long. Sarah is a loving independent mom, friend, daughter and sister, amongst a plethora of other qualities, that are harder and harder to find today. Ruah is a sweet little girl who is curious, excited to explore the world around her, and lights up the room. Sarah, Ruah, and their dog Nilla, who Sarah lovingly refers to as her “first born”, more than deserve this chance at a fresh start.
Thank you so much for considering helping this family find their way home, we are so excited to welcome them back with safety and support. Any contribution will make a difference in their big journey, we are so grateful to anyone who can help them complete this journey.
