Hello everyone -
First, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the generous people who have donated nearly 50% of our goal.
I was reluctant to ask for help in the first place, and it’s even more difficult to keep asking, but I'm determined to do my best to keep providing a safe home for my dogs.
For those who don’t know me, I’m a hard-working and honest woman in my mid-60s. I’m also a long-time dog agility competitor, always with dogs from shelters/rescues. My dogs are, above all else, my dearly beloved companions, and the light of my life.
Due to factors beyond my control (the pandemic & related income loss, plus a severe injury), I’ve been living off my savings since September of 2021, and I don’t have much left.
I’m finally able to start looking for work again, but have suddenly found myself faced with a crisis:
I've been given until the end of April - 5 weeks from now - to leave the house I've lived in for the last 11 years. After intensive searching, I was able to locate a place my dogs and I can stay until I get on my feet. However, it’s a single room, and I need outside storage for most of my things. A safe outdoor area needs to be enclosed for the dogs, and some items are needed for setting up the room.
I’m running the GoFundMe to try to raise enough for a cargo trailer that can be parked on-site to hold my clothes, furniture and household items, a few boxes of books, dog training equipment, and some family heirlooms. This will allow me to have ready access to everything, and make it easier to move again later. Funds are also needed to fence in a small outdoor area to keep the dogs safe.
If there's anything left over, it will be used for a portable radiator (the room has a window a/c but no heat) and whatever else is needed to keep the room safe and comfortable for my dogs.
Any donation, no matter how small, will be gratefully accepted, put to good use, and “paid forward” as soon as I get on my feet again. Please also feel free to share this as you see fit; any help is appreciated.
