Help Sarah and Eric become a family through IVF

My name is Lindsey and my brother and sister-in-law want a baby more than anything in this world. Their journey hasn’t been easy and is still ongoing with continued roadblocks and setbacks. Most couples would have packed everything up and quit, but they still remain strong and determined to be parents. Please take the time to read their story.……….

Hello All! We just want to say thank you for taking the time to check out our story - any help is much appreciated as we navigate our next round of IVF.
Nothing about our journey so far has been easy. There’s nothing we want more in the world than to be parents and we are trying everything we can.

We have spent the last 4 years navigating surgeries, IUI failures, fake doctors, hundreds of shots, and now one failed IVF attempt. Unfortunately, neither of us have insurance that covers any part of this. A full round of IVF is $40k, and each egg retrieval attempt is $27-28k. We have spent far more at this point than we ever thought we’d have to.

I think the easiest way to explain it all is with a timeline:
2021 – Start trying for a family

April 2023 – Fibroid removal surgery

July 2023 – Met with Center for Reproductive Health for the first time

September 2023 – IUI #1 Failed
February 2024 – IUI #2 Failed

March 2024 – Discovered that our long-term fertility doctor was NOT in fact a reproductive endocrinologist, nor was he even licensed to practice medicine. He didn’t even have a medical degree from a college recognized by the US. The links at the end share more about this negligence and betrayal. Needless to say, we were devastated. We had spent close to $12k at this point.

April 2024 – Met with our new clinic – Dr. Smith is our literal angel, if everything that happened lead us to her it was all worth it. We have done lots of testing and it boils down to simply an egg quality issue. Something that only IVF can bypass.

May 2024-December 2025 – Spent time losing weight to meet the requirements for IVF.

January 2024 – tried to start our first round of IVF but experienced delays for various reasons.

March 2024 – FINALLY able to start our first round of STIMS (ovarian stimulation injections) with the plan to do our egg retrieval 10-12 days later. Everything went beautifully. I had 30 follicles that were growing, at least 22 of which should have been mature.

Unfortunately, during the egg retrieval surgery my right ovary was blocked by a small fibroid, , and they were only able to retrieve 12 eggs. We had 9 that were mature, 8 that fertilized, and only 1 that made it to a day 7 blastocyst. We sent it for PGT testing and found out it was a girl but not genetically normal and thus not suitable for an embryo transfer.

WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP:
Here we are ready to try one more time. We have created a plan with Dr. Smith to add a medication in this round to improve the quality of my eggs. We are also doing a different version of anesthesia that should help Dr. Smith work around the fibroid. We feel confident in this plan, as does Dr. Smith. This is our last shot, and we need help. The total cost for this egg retrieval will be $28k with the added injections during the process.

We wouldn’t be asking for your financial help if it wasn’t our last resort. I have cried more tears during the last 4 years than I ever thought possible and it’s insanely painful to have the one thing you want most in life be just outside of your grasp.

Anything you can offer to is appreciated more than you could ever know. We are grateful for our friends and family who have been there for us through all of this, offering so much support in so many ways. We know this is a HUGE ask and times are tight, but we are running out of time and must do this ASAP to have any kind of a shot of making it happen.
We are grateful for you taking the time to read all of this.
THANK YOU ALL!
