Help My Daughter and Grandchildren Rebuild After Losing Their Home.  I am writing this with a heavy heart for my daughter Sarah and my two granddaughters, Isabella (6) and baby Alessandra (2 months old). On November 22nd, their lives changed in a way we never imagined. A severe sewage flood and hidden mold contamination destroyed their home. What should have been a safe place for them became unsafe overnight — contaminated, filled with mold in the walls, and unfit for my daughter to even walk into with her newborn. Instead of preparing for the holidays, my daughter has been fighting every day to try to figure out what to do for her and her girls. A Mother’s Heartbreak I have watched my daughter try to hold herself together while her entire world has been uprooted. I’ve watched her rush out of the apartment carrying her newborn in the cold, sick, exhausted, and terrified trying to retrieve what belongings they could. I’ve watched my 6-year-old granddaughter cry because all of her things — her bed, her toys, her books, her clothes — are still in the apartment she cannot safely enter. And I’ve watched my daughter break down because she doesn’t know where they’ll stay for the next few months. They have been displaced since 11/22, bouncing between couches, small hotel stays. They have no stability or home for the holidays. As a mother, nothing is worse than watching your child try to be strong when she is overwhelmed, scared, sick, and stretched beyond her limits. The Trauma This Has Caused My daughter has:     •    been trying endlessly to get answers from management     •    been denied clear communication      •    been fighting through insurance barriers     •    been sick with sick children     •    caring for a newborn and a heartbroken 6-year-old. She is doing everything she can, but she is exhausted. And she needs help. Why I’m Asking for Help. They lost so much. They need help with:     •    Temporary housing until they can safely return somewhere     •    Replacing contaminated belongings     •    Safe storage and cleaning services for anything salvageable     •    Emergency expenses while navigating legal, health, and housing issues. I am doing everything I can as her mother, but the financial burden is more than I can carry alone.  My wish is simple: I want to see my daughter and grandbabies safe again. I want them to have a warm, clean place to sleep. I want them to have their holidays back, their sense of comfort back, their peace back. I want my daughter to feel supported instead of alone, scared, and overwhelmed. A Christmas No Family Should Have As the holidays approach, it breaks my heart to know they may be spending Christmas in a hotel room, without their home, without their belongings, and without any certainty about when they will have stability again. No mother wants to see her daughter go through this. No child should lose their home right before Christmas. No newborn should be exposed to mold and sewage fumes. Please Help If You Can If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it will go directly towards:     •    securing them safe shelter     •    replacing what was lost     •    giving my granddaughters some sense of normalcy again     •    helping my daughter breathe, even just a little If you cannot donate, please share this story. Every share is appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, caring, and helping a family that has been through a lot unexpectedly. Your kindness truly makes a difference. With love and gratitude, Donna
