Help Sarah and Brian Recover After The Flood!
Donation protected

Sarah and Brian Rittenberry of Waynesville, NC lost their home and everything in it when Richland Creek flooded in the early morning hours of Friday, September 27th. They barely had time to get their 2 kids and 3 pets out before the water rose too high. Their kids are Landon (age 13) and Carson (age 7). They also have 2 dogs and a cat. They are extremely grateful that they are all safe!
Brian and Sarah had no homeowners insurance because it's just so expensive! They both work full-time jobs, but like most people, saving money while raising two kids is hard, so they don't have savings to fall back on.
All they had with them was a change of clothes and some important documents. They lost everything else. The kids' rooms completely washed away!
The desperate need right now is just to help them temporarily until emergency funds like FEMA gets started. They just need help replacing the basic necessities like clothes, hygiene products, school supplies, etc., and to help get a place to live temporarily! If you can help by donating $5, $10, or $20, it would be greatly appreciated! If not, we completely understand.
Sarah and Brian would also like everyone to know how much they appreciate all the help they've already received from volunteers who helped them look for anything that could be salvaged, like family photos, etc. They would very much like to extend their offer to help anyone in the area in any way they can.
We ask that you keep this family in your prayers and know that you are in ours. Also, please pray for all of the families who are still stranded, isolated, have lost their homes, and lost loved ones. This is the worst disaster that has hit our community in our lifetime. Western North Carolina will come together, rebuild our lives, and survive this!
