Help My Sister Fight Colon Cancer

My name is Alyssa Dedmon,

I'm creating this with a heavy heart to share some devastating news: my sister and the best Aunty to my kids, Sarah Alexander, has just been diagnosed with Colon Cancer.

She would never ask for help but just barely a week in we're all realizing the toll this journey is going to take. She is a fighter, and she is ready to take this on but the reality of a cancer diagnosis is brutal. She's had so many doctors appointments already and being single and living so far away from us she's had to resort to taking Uber often for transportation because frustratingly one of her symptoms currently is extreme dizziness. Between symptoms and treatment we have no idea when she'll be able to get back to work. The medical bills, traveling costs and the daily cost of living in an expensive place as Bay Area(rent, groceries, utilities) are hitting her immediately. I need to make sure she can focus 100% on healing and not on how to pay for her every day expenses.

This is where I desperately need your help.

Many of you have asked how to help as she goes through treatment. The truth is, meals and transportation are one of the hardest things to manage right now. Every dollar we raise will go straight to her care: paying for treatments, food, securing her housing, and covering the necessities while her income is gone.
