Help Sarah buy a flute!
Donation protected
This fundraiser serves to assist my family and me in purchasing a new flute. This upgrade will help me progress further in my education and journey as a musician. We have taken on significant medical costs in caring for my mother and siblings in the past few years, making this purchase extremely difficult without external support.
My name is Sarah Pedlar (she/her) and I just completed my third year as an undergraduate Flute Performance major at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI.
I have been playing on my current flute for the past 6 years (since 9th grade), and I have outgrown it—it is holding me back as a performer in many ways. Not only does it lack important mechanisms and features for playing repertoire at a high level (C# trill key, D# roller), but its lightwall tubing is also now too weak for my improved sound and air. (Six years of growth makes a big difference!) As I approach graduate school auditions, it is imperative that I upgrade my instrument to best support my future, and to provide me a foundation upon which to continue to grow as a flutist and musician.
My current top choice instrument rings in at $10,888. Other flutes I am trialing also cost in the range of $10-$12k. Even with payment plans, the cost is too great for my family and me to afford without assistance, especially due to our recent incurrence of medical bills. Any funds I receive will go directly toward purchasing a new flute, which is key to helping advance my education and progress as far as possible as a flutist.
Please consider sharing or donating and helping me afford this next step in my music education and journey! Every penny counts and means so much when it comes to a purchase like this one! It is so deeply appreciated.
