*UPDATE 6/6/25: I need to come up with $1400 by the end of the month to keep my housing, I am also running low on groceries while working with local resources, but I’m struggling. My next court date is 6/26 and they are asking for the amount stated above to be paid by then, or I risk having an eviction on my record which will make finding other housing nearly impossible. Hi, my name is Sara-Anne, and I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times in my life. I’m currently facing an eviction with a court date set for June 5th, and I need urgent help to stay housed.

At the beginning of this year, I was laid off from my job. Since then, I’ve been actively searching for new employment while also attending school full time. Unfortunately, because of New York’s 599 Training Program requirements, I haven’t been eligible to collect unemployment benefits during the summer break, leaving me without any income.

To make matters worse, my roommate moved out unexpectedly before our lease was up, which left me solely responsible for the full rent. I’ve tried to keep up with payments, but things have spiraled. Most recently, my car was totaled in an accident just a few weeks ago, and that loss has made it even harder to attend interviews or pick up any kind of gig or part-time work.

I’m currently behind $4,131 in rent, and I’ve set the goal at $4,500 to provide a bit of breathing room as I get back on my feet and continue job searching. Every dollar helps, and I’m incredibly grateful for anything you’re able to contribute, whether it's financial support or simply sharing this campaign.
