Help Sara Bring Her Niece Home and Begin the Healing Journey

I’m raising funds for Sara, my daughter’s friend and coworker, who is fighting to gain custody of her 2-year-old niece—a sweet little girl who has endured unimaginable abuse. This precious child was beaten and tortured by a trusted family member )who we are not able to name until sentencing...) who is now in custody along with another unable to be named family member, both held on bail.

Sara’s niece has been in Shriner’s Hospital since October 2024, recovering from severe injuries that include a shunt in her head (which will remain for life) and a G-tube to help her eat. Despite everything, this little fighter is lucky to be alive, and Sara is determined to give her a safe, loving home.

Why Sara Needs Your Help

Sara lives in Orange County, CA, while her niece has been in the Sacramento area. She’s approved for emergency placement and will be picking her niece up next week to begin temporary custody while working to make it permanent through CPS. However, the road ahead is long and challenging.

This little girl will need ongoing therapy, specialized medical care, and a stable, nurturing environment to heal from the trauma she’s endured. Sara, who had no idea any of this was happening, is stepping into the role of a single parent overnight. She is committed to providing her niece with everything she needs, but she can’t do it alone.
