My name is Sara Stine and I had a pretty basic life filled with spending time with my dogs, enjoying the outdoors, baking all the goodies and had a full time job!

Unfortunately on January 7th, 2022 on what I thought was going to be a quick trip to the grocery store has forever changed my life. I was in a very severe car accident that Friday afternoon. As I was pulling out of my driveway making a left hand turn (which some of you know has a bad blind spot) I was T-boned by another driver that was going at least 60mph. My vehicle was the only thing that slowed the other car down. I was impacted so hard it threw my car Into the ravine on the opposite side of my driveway. The airbags went off and jolted my whole left side of my body. The fire crew couldn’t extract me from the driver side due to the damage and had to pull me from the passenger side of vehicle. Due to my injuries I was then life flighted to Banner University in Tucson. I was awake for all of this til I got to the hospital. Once I arrived they put me under in order to place a chest tube due to a collapsed lung. This was just the beginning of my injuries. I sustained a fractured pelvis, fractured collarbone, 2 broken ribs, fractured sternum, a t4 spinal compression fracture, a facial fracture and a hole in my left lung which caused it to collapse. As I woke up in a room by myself wondering how a split second could change my life all the pain started to come on. I rested and healed for a week with a tube draining fluid from my lung for my Dr’s decide to do surgery to close the hole in my lung. Thankfully surgery was successful and I was able to recoup another couple days with another chest tube. I healed up nicely and stable enough to go home after 12 days of being hospitalized. I have a long road to recovery as I can’t walk due to broken pelvis. So no working in my future just have to take time to rest and heal these broken bones. So I’m asking for help with cost of medical bills and being life flighted to Tucson due to insurance not covering all of the costs related to the accident. I appreciate all who have checked on me and supported my healing journey.
