My name is Sara, and just two days ago, I experienced a fall while hiking on a trail in Central Oregon. I slipped and tumbled nearly 100 feet down a steep mountain path. I remember thinking I was going to hit my head, so I braced for impact and protected my skull. Somehow, I managed to avoid the worst, but I ended up with a dislocated finger, banged up elbow, and shoulder, along with a lot of bruising, inflammation, and wounds. I don’t have health insurance or any financial assistance, and right now, I can’t walk, bear weight, or bend my knee at all. This means I’m unable to work at the moment. I don’t know how long I will be out for.
I’ve already had one medical visit with multiple X-rays and will need to return soon to have stitches removed, and possibly have more xrays on areas that were not checked. With no family, friends, or support system nearby in this new city, I’m facing this recovery on my own. My biggest worries right now are covering basic bills while I’m out of work. Any help would go directly toward bills and making sure I can get the care I need to heal. Thank you for reading and for any support you can offer during this difficult time.
