Help Sara Rebuild After Hurricane Devastation

Hello my name is Sara Crum - Costello. I did marry recently and would love to get my name changed soon but it seems there’s too much to do. I have been volunteering with my local church the last five years. #WeAreRadiant

I have a humble home that was inherited to me. It’s an old home and not able to be insured.

Hurricane Helene/Milton left so many of us devastated. I know I’m so blessed that the damage was not worse than it was. Survivors guilt is real.

We just replaced our front of the house roofing, awaiting them to return to finish the back of it. Weeks go by and here comes hurrican Milton, the winds took the back of the roof that was still needing replaced and the roof caved in throughout the back of house. We’ve lost all of the carpet, flooring, drywall, whole kitchen (floor and ceiling) roughly 500sq ft.

Fortunately we already have our roofing materials, and that was already paid for. We were not ready to remodel the house even though it was in desperate need of repairs. I had applied for a home equity loan but was declined bc I was able to write off all my expenses on my last two years of taxes as a single mom, small business owner.
