Hi, my name is Sara Sánchez. I’m morbidly obese and weigh the most I have ever weighed in my life - 372lbs. I know that I am more than just my weight, but I also know that it will shorten my time on this Earth with my kids. I want to change that.

I have tried many times, but whether you believe it or not, obesity is a disease. In order to defeat it, I have chosen to get bariatric surgery. The gastric sleeve procedure will help me lose at least 60 percent of my excess weight by resetting my hormonal imbalance and increasing my metabolism. In other words, I can lose up to 200lbs if I put in the work.

 

The cost of surgery is $14,000, as my insurance does not cover anything related to bariatric surgery. That does not even cover the months of post-op protein shakes, lifelong need for vitamins, and 8 post surgery bloodwork labs. Please consider donating to my life changing surgery so I can see my kids grow up for a long time.

My surgery date is scheduled for June 9th. I have some of the funds secured, and I’m already in the process of getting blood work and EKGs done. I have a personal nutritionist, and I am in the process of finding a counselor because I know surgery will affect not only my body but my mind as well. The work has already begun.
