Sarahi is my 36-year-old cousin, and she’s facing one of the toughest battles of her life. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and heartbreakingly, the cancer has already spread to other parts of her body. Despite her best efforts, Sara hasn’t been able to get accepted for Medicaid, which means she has to pay for her chemotherapy and treatments out of pocket. She’s ready to start her chemotherapy, but without the funds, she simply can’t begin the treatment she urgently needs.

Sara is not only fighting for her own life—she’s also a devoted mother to three children, including a one-year-old who needs her constant care and attention. The thought of her children, especially her youngest, being left without their mom weighs heavily on her every day.
