Help Sara Alyce Souder Fight Pancreatic Cancer

Sara Alyce Souder, or “Ma” as my family calls her, is one of the most incredible, generous, loving, free-spirited, devoted women I have ever met. She is my hubby’s mama, my second mama, and we are all so blessed by who she is. She doesn’t have much, but she gives all of herself to her people, in every way she can. Her passions are feeding her family, baking amazing cakes for her grandbabies’ birthdays, going to the beach, all things music, taking in ‘extra’ friends and treating them as her own family, and she has a magical touch in planning events and gifts for all her loved ones. For my husband’s 30th birthday a couple years ago, she helped me plan the BEST 1920’s themed speakeasy murder mystery party for him, and it was the best birthday he’s ever had.

Ma needs our help. In the last week, Sara was in and out of the hospital with severe abdominal pain. After being admitted and scanned, endoscopied, biopsied, etc., we received confirmation yesterday that she has stage 4 pancreatic cancer, with metastasis on her liver, spleen and kidneys. We are devastated, heartbroken and completely overwhelmed by all of this. She receives her port at the hospital today and will begin 3 rounds of aggressive chemo treatment. We are in dire need of any financial help that can be provided, for medical bills, helping with her rent and/or other bills while she is not able to work, everything. No amount is too small, friends. Let’s rally around this remarkable woman, our Ma. The battle will be hard, but she will fight the good fight as long as she can.
