Update on Sapphire's Second Chance:

Sapphire pulled through completely after her ordeal last fall and returned to her quirky, intelligent, loving, fluffy self! She is so smart and learns so fast that she will train us before we can train her if we aren't careful! Her ability to communicate with her humans is nothing short of astounding.

Sapphire's most noticeable change since her hospitalization has been her insistence on having what we call, "All hands on dog, all the time." She wants to be petted constantly; and when we stop, she groans so audibly and dramatically that we can't help but to keep petting her. She's irresistable and she knows it! We think that she came to expect the constant level of attention that she got in the hospital, even though she's healthy as a horse now. (Or it traumatized her so much that she's afraid of what will happen if we stop, but we don't like that option). Either way, her new personality trait is ok with us! We just love having her with us still, thriving and growing up as she should. Unexpected illness tried to cut her life short, but she prevailed!

For me, however, the brightness of the gratitude I have for her getting a second chance at living her best life, casts a huge shadow behind the scenes on mine. The cost of saving her life - while worth every penny - is forcing me closer and closer to literal bankruptcy with every passing month. Her hospitalization debt isn't one that I can manage on my own at this time, despite cutting costs in every way, budgeting, getting MORE credit cards (0% balance transfers, etc.), finally finding a full-time job opportunity, and consistently working 2 jobs (over 40 hours per week) for almost a year now. Every donation I have and will receive is a godsend, and every single cent of every single one has gone and will go directly to this debt.

What started at just under $14,000 in vet expenses is now over $20,000 and growing every month because of credit card interest. Ideally, I'd love to raise enough to wipe it out completely, but at this point, I would love to just make it out of the bankrupcy danger zone, which (I think) would be 65 - 75% of the overall balance.

I am SO GRATEFUL for every donation that I have received so far. THANK YOU to everyone who has extended whatever help they are willing and able to provide; whether in the form of prayers, shares, or monetary help, I am deeply touched by the thoughtfulness and generosity of those who have been brought into my life. <3

If you can find it in your heart to help me out, I am so thankful. Even sharing this fundraiser page is a way to help that doesn't cost anything. Thank you, again, for all of your support!

With so much love and light,
-Ranae

Original GoFundMe Story:
It is with sadness and hope that I am reaching out for help. My beloved Sapphire Rose Camaro is a two-year-old German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix who fell ill suddenly and unexpectedly at the end of September. Her journey was a long one, and she is finally on the mend.

In addition to the physical toll on Sapphire, this unforeseen setback has taken an enormous financial toll on me. I am so grateful that Sapphire appears to be pulling through this and am grateful for this fundraising opportunity to help me pull through it too!

No donation is too small and every donation is one step closer to me being able to afford this unanticipated bump in the road of Sapphire's young, and otherwise healthy, life. Thank you to everyone for all of the love and prayers that you have extended to us since the beginning of this ordeal. We appreciate you! -Ranae and Sapphire Rose Camaro
