Hi, I'm Trish Carr. In 2017, Marty Ward went to Uganda with water filters, soccer balls and a dream to create confidence in kids.

Who would have known, 3 years later, in June 2021, she would die of cancer 10 days after being diagnosed.

One of those Ugandan kids is Sanya Rogers, a young village leader, now 26, who I 'adopted' so he could stay in school, finish his medical training and bring care and education to those Ugandan villages.

From Humble Beginnings to a Dream Worth Fighting For

My name is Sanya Rogers, and I come from a small village in Uganda, Africa. Born into a humble family, my father is blind and my mother has no employment. Every day was a struggle — even the most basic needs like food, school fees, and medical care were often out of reach.

But even in the midst of hardship, I held tightly to a dream:

To become a medical doctor and serve the people of my community.

A Dream Nearly Lost…

After finishing high school in 2016, I had to drop out.

Why? My family simply couldn’t afford the tuition. My dream felt like it was slipping away — until something miraculous happened.

A Missionary’s Visit Changed Everything

In 2017, Marty L. Ward, a missionary from the U.S. and a member of Women’s Prosperity Network, visited my village with a mission to empower youth through her movement, TAG for Change Africa.

When I shared my story with her — my dream, my struggles — she made a life-changing decision:

✨ She sponsored my education and sent me back to school.

But in 2021, my world was shaken once more. Marty passed away unexpectedly. I was devastated.

Just when I thought I’d lost everything again, Trish Carr, co-founder of Women’s Prosperity Network and Marty’s dear friend, reached out with comforting words and a powerful promise:

"I will support you. I will be your Mom now."

And she has. Trish became my rock. She’s provided love, care, and every resource I’ve needed to continue my studies.

Where I Am Today — and Where I’m Going

Today, I am pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Promotion and Education — the next step on my journey to becoming a medical doctor.

But I need your help to stay on this path.

Why Your Support Matters

I’m not just getting an education for me. I’m preparing to transform the health of my entire community.

In rural Uganda, preventable diseases like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and waterborne illnesses continue to claim lives. Maternal and child health remains in crisis. Health education is rare, and access to care is limited.

My mission is to:

• Launch health education campaigns in schools and villages

• Advocate for disease prevention and hygiene practices

• Support mothers and children with nutrition and care

• Build a community clinic where people can receive affordable, compassionate care

But I can’t do this without completing my degree — and I can’t finish my degree without your support.
