Please Help Santino & The Reyes Family!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brittany Alessio and I am here to help share this tragic accident in attempt to help out a friend in need. My husband Romeo has been friends with Lance Reyes for over 15 years, they have worked together for many years and stayed close friends throughout the years. Anyone who is fortunate enough to know Lance and his family, knows that Lance is one of the most genuine people with a heart that is too good for this world. Lance is the guy you call when you get stuck in the mud, the guy you call when your moving and need an extra hand or hands, the guy who drops everything in a moments notice to help in any situation no matter what he has going on. He also has raised some really great boys who are quickly turning into great men. Santino and RJ have been riding together since they could walk, along with fishing and having fun. I would give almost anything to have Santino, RJ and Billy eating us out of house & home, arguing like brothers and just being boys instead of seeing him in this condition. Lance and his wife Jess are always there for anyone in need, but right now they are the ones in need of our help.
On Sunday afternoon Lance’s son Santino was riding his dirt bike with a friend of his riding passenger when they were struck head on by a car traveling around a bend on Marshall Mill Road. Santino and his friend were thrown from the dirt bike into the woods and sustained severe injuries. Both boys were airlifted to Cooper Hospital. Santino’s friend underwent surgery and will likely be treated and released in a few days, thank god! Santino has already undergone multiple surgeries in the last 24 hours but unfortunately still has a few more ahead. He is currently in surgery to try and set his pelvis which was shattered as I type this. Santino has a very long road to recovery ahead of him. Lance and Jess haven’t left his side. Like any parent would do for their child, Lance will not leave until his boy does.
I am asking, we are asking that anyone who is able to do so, please donate to help ease the financial burden on The Reyes family while they are out of work with Santino in the hospital. We do not have a timeline for potential discharge at this time and probably won’t for a while as he has multiple surgeries ahead of him. Once they are all completed he will have another long road of rehabilitation and recovery. We understand that times are tough for everyone these days and do not want anyone to feel obligated to donate. If you are not able to donate we ask that you please share this fundraiser and more importantly please pray for Santino and family. I will try to update on his progress when I can but right now things are changing quickly, sometimes by the minute. Santino has been sedated since EMS arrived on scene but he was alert and communicating before. We are praying his doctors can ease off his sedation medications later tonight depending on how this current surgery goes. The Reyes family thanks everyone from the bottom of their hearts for all of the prayers and support you have all shown them thus far!
6/13/23 UPDATE
Santino had surgery last night where they placed an exoskeleton on his pelvis and femur that were broken. He remained sedated through the night but stable. This morning he went back to the OR to close up his stomach and to repair intestinal damage. Everything went well with this procedure and he is doing well. He is not out of the woods yet but he is improving! The Reyes family can not put into words how grateful they are for all of the prayers and for the donations made! Please continue to keep Santino and family in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to fight. I will update as often as I can. Please keep sharing this page as well, it is amazing seeing everyone come together and in less than 24 hours we have already raised half of our first goal. My intentions are to allow Lance and Jess to be with Santino through every step with out the worry of not having income until they are able to return to work. Thank you all again!
6/14/23 UPDATE
Santino just got out of almost 12 hours in surgery! All in all everything went well. There have been a few complications along the way but with a great team of surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff, we are pleased with the outcome again today. They were able to place rod in his left femur and set it as well as the left side of his pelvis. He has a wound vac in place to help with the swelling and to promote new cell growth from the inside out. The surgeon is happy with the femur and the way the rod was placed hoping it will not interfere with his growth plate since he still has a lot of growing to do! Santino was under anesthesia for a long time today so they may push his next surgery back a few days to allow him time to rest. The next steps with be to set his right side of pelvis and then his left elbow. The team and family are very happy with the progress that has been made in just these last few days! Santino still has a lengthy road ahead, longer than he is currently aware. But this is one extremely tough kid with the most supportive family and friends. I again want to thank you all on behalf of the Reyes family. We are all completely blown away by the support you have all shown thus far! Thank you! ❤️
