Santiago, my dad, experienced a terrifying event today when a severe thunderstorm swept through our neighborhood. Winds reached up to 80 miles an hour, and a tree was lifted from its roots, landing directly on his car. He had just gotten home and parked two houses down, planning to cut the grass, but noticed the rain was about to start. Santiago decided to go to the grocery store to pick up some food, but realized he had forgotten to put his leaf blower away and went back to the garage. Within minutes, he heard a loud noise and saw one of our neighbors run out of their house. When he went to see what had happened, he saw the tree had fallen on top of his car. He was very upset and nervous to see his car windows all broken and his car smashed between branches. This car is the one he uses every day to get to and from work, and losing it has truly shaken him. We are truly thankful that he was not hurt.

The funds raised will be used to help Santiago purchase a new car so he can get back to work and regain his independence. This unexpected loss has been a huge blow to him, and we are hoping to rally support from our community to help him recover. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in his life, allowing him to move forward after this difficult event.
