Help Santi Fund Seminary Education

Dear Friends,
For the past three years, Santi has been discerning a call to ordained ministry in the Episcopal Church. We are delighted to announce that Santi will begin his studies in August at Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX. Julie, Ty, and one of our dogs (an eternally loyal Blue Heeler named Bleu) will stay in Alexandria for the first year. Julie is an officer in the Coast Guard and her commission ends next year. Santi will be moving to Austin in mid-August with our other dog (a Bernese Mountain dog named Mia, who is a social butterfly). We are aware that the transition and the separation invite us to intentional creativity in our communication. This transition will require lots of flexibility, compassion, and active listening. Thankfully, we have friends and extended family who are very supportive of our journey in Christ. We are grateful for the gift of Skype and air travel.
Seminary education is a significant investment of time and energy as well as of financial resources. Thankfully, Seminary of the Southwest have granted Santi an 100% tuition grant. To cover other expenses that arise, we have reached out to outside scholarship sources and we are seeking the support of friends and family to consider a gift.
By making a gift today, you will be helping us to cover the cost of items such as:
$1,150 - Moving expenses (travel from Alexandria, VA to Austin, van rental, etc.)
$1,700 - One year of books
$1000 - School supplies
$600 - One month of housing and utility support
$872 - Seminarian Community Meal cost for the year
$750 - Summer Clinical Pastoral Education
$887 – One year of Student Services and Student Association fees
