Donate for Shankar’s Medical Expense
With a heavy heart, we inform you that Sankaranarayanan Ramachandran (“Shankar”) , 48 years of age , is critically ill and is suffering from ALS.
ALS is a neuro degenerative disease in which a person’s brain loses connection with the muscles leading to the loss of ability to walk, speak and eventually breathe.
It is estimated that an out-of-pocket expense of $250,000 is needed to take care of a patient with ALS.
We are reaching out to friends, families, and communities to raise funds for taking care of Shankar.
Since his diagnosis in April 2021, Shankar’s mobility has deteriorated significantly, and his condition has worsened in the last couple of days. He is the single earning member of the family and he will be on disability soon.
Shankar, Loganayaki Balakrishnan(Ramya), his wife and two little daughters 11 and 7 years old, need financial support to pay for his medical and their living expenses.
Shankar is an ardent devotee and an active community volunteer, raising up on several community-giving projects. He and wife Ramya, serve as volunteer teachers in Missouri Tamil School. Shankar has a natural affinity towards teaching math. He passionately conducted national-level coaching classes for the North South Foundation Math program. He is very passionate about music and singing, and has performed in “Murasu Symphony” of the FeTNA (Federation of Tamil Organizations of North America) Convention and World Tamil Conference 2019, Chicago. Shankar is a very devoted, positive, and kind-hearted individual. He always wants to lead a full life. It is unfortunate that he and his family had to undergo this situation. It is upon us to help the family as they undergo this hardship.
