Our family is asking for help for our mother, SanJuana “Lisa” Padron, who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 Chondrosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. This tumor has already caused a fracture in her left hip, leaving her unable to bear weight or walk normally. It has also led to multiple blood clots, making an already devastating situation even more urgent.
Right now, Lisa is home with family as we work tirelessly to navigate the next steps and get her the treatment she desperately needs. Unfortunately, the insurance she currently has is a limited plan, and because she is still within the first 30 days of coverage, it is not covering the surgery and medical care she urgently needs. We are seeking second opinions and trying to find the best possible options, but the first quote we received for a new patient workup alone was extremely high, and that does not include surgery, treatment, hospital care, medications, or follow-up appointments. Full payment was required upfront, with no payment plan offered. Cancer does not wait while finances are sorted out. Chondrosarcoma is already at Stage 2, and surgery is currently the only treatment option being discussed.
