Help Sanju Fight For More Time

Hi my name is Hida, I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of our dear team member and friend, Sanju.
Sanju is one of the kindest, most hardworking people you could ever meet. She never imagined she would have to ask for help like this — but after exhausting all available NHS treatment options, she is now facing the fight of her life.
The life-extending treatment she urgently needs is only available privately and costs far beyond what she and her fiancé can afford alone.
We are coming together to give her hope, time, and a chance to marry the love of her life.
Please take a moment to read her story below.

Hello, my name is Sanju.
I’m originally from Nepal, and I moved to England with my family 17 years ago. Since then, this country has become our home — the place where I built my life, my dreams, and my future.
For many years, I worked as a beauty therapist, with the simple dream of becoming a nail technician and opening my own little salon one day. Life felt full of hope. I met Daniel — the love of my life and my soulmate — and together we began planning our future: getting married, starting a family, and building the peaceful, happy life we always imagined.
But everything changed when, at 38, I found a small lump on my neck.
What I thought would be a routine GP visit became the beginning of a nightmare. Scans revealed a mass in my lung, and in June 2022 I underwent an upper right lobectomy. I was diagnosed with Stage 3A lung cancer.
Chemotherapy was too difficult for my body to tolerate. Further testing revealed I carried an EGFR exon 19 mutation, which allowed me to begin targeted therapy. For a while, things remained stable. I let myself believe that maybe life could return to some kind of normal.
Then in November 2024, I was rushed to A&E with severe chest and rib pain. Fluid was drained from my lung — it tested positive for cancer. My diagnosis had progressed to Stage 4.
The treatments that followed — chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and further targeted therapies — failed within months. Soon after, the cancer spread to my brain. In July, I underwent Gamma Knife surgery. A scan in November showed further progression.
I was referred to The Royal Marsden to explore clinical trials, but I was either ineligible due to previous treatments or did not carry the required gene mutations. While waiting for trial outcomes, I was placed on Erlotinib. However, because my cancer has already developed resistance to Osimertinib, the chances of this drug helping long-term are very low.
After exhausting NHS options, we began looking into private treatments.
That is when we learned about Amivantamab — a treatment that could potentially help slow down or control my cancer. But it costs over £100,000 — far beyond what we can ever afford. Another possible option, a peptide vaccine therapy in Germany, costs around £68,000, not including travel and accommodation.
I am now at a point where time matters more than anything.
I want to keep fighting.
I want the chance to marry Daniel.
I want more time with my family.
I want the chance to live the life I dreamed of when I came to this country.
I never imagined I would be in a position where I had to ask for help like this. But today, I am reaching out — humbly and vulnerably — to anyone who may be able to support me.
How You Can Help

Every bit of support brings me closer to life-prolonging treatment and more precious time with the people I love.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for giving me hope during the darkest and most fragile time of my life.
With love and gratitude,
Sanju
