PLEASE HELP MY BABY NEEDS MORE TIME!
My 3-week-old daughter is currently in Children’s PICU in Washington DC and she has experienced a brain injury. It was only 2-3 days after she was admitted to the hospital that doctors said she was “brain dead” and wanted to perform a test to confirm. However, I was informed that the test could cause my daughters brain injury to worsen – so I refused.
My daughter needs more time. She is currently on a ventilator, her lungs have healed, her vitals are good, her kidneys healed, and her heart is pumping on its own. I don’t understand how or why the hospital is so quick to give up on my daughter.
She is fully alive – she opens her eyes, moves her hands and feet, she couched up milk, she sheds tears. They are rushing and pressuring me to decide about removing her life support.
My daughter was on the verge of SIDS and she was able to survive that! I am her mother and I want to give my daughter more time and treatment so that her brain injury has time to heal. Please help!
I’m here with her in the hospital 24/7. I’m not currently working. I’m enrolled in Cosmetology school with 150 hours to complete, but now I’m here with her and we need your help.
After being in the hospital for almost 30 days Saniyah had to get tracheotomy and G Tube surgery in order to leave the hospital. We are now seeking rehabilitation and HBOT treatment. Like my friend who son was also struck by a harsh medical condition but was able to get well through the HBOT therapy.
