Julie is raising funds for Sang-yam Rumba, a friend and guide from the Annapurna Circuit trek in September 2023, and for others affected by the recent flood tragedy in Nepal. Sang-yam, known to friends as Rumba, is currently missing after the flooding. This fundraiser was created out of deep concern for his safety and love for the people of Nepal, who are facing heartbreaking loss and uncertainty right now. Julie met Rumba through the same trekking company that is now helping organize relief efforts, and because of that personal connection and firsthand experience, she feels confident sharing this trusted effort with friends and family in the United States.
Funds from this fundraiser will help support search efforts for Sang-yam and provide financial support to his family during this incredibly painful time, whether he is found alive or not. Support will also help others impacted by the flood through the trusted trekking company coordinating relief on the ground.
