My name is Sandy, and after a long and difficult battle with cancer, I am finally finished with my treatments. While I am grateful to be on the other side of this journey, I am now facing the challenge of rebuilding my life from the ground up. When I first got sick, I lost everything—my home, my belongings, and my sense of stability. Now, as I work to regain my independence, I am trying to secure a place of my own. Unfortunately, rent is extremely expensive, and being on disability means my income is very limited.

Starting over is overwhelming. I don’t have furniture, kitchen items, or any of the basics needed to make a home. Every day is a reminder of how much I’ve lost, but also of how much hope I have for a fresh start.
