UPDATE: Surgery yesterday (8/21) was more intense than the first one (6/17) and the nerve block was not near as strong...therefore the pain has been a bit much...had to stay overnight in the hospital for pain management and my careteam have been wonderful...hopefully I'll get discharged this afternoon...its going to be an interesting recovery as I didn't have any pain for 5 weeks the first time until it decided to start the dislocation process... please keep Elyssa and I in your prayers as we are in this together and she's my nurse through it all... bless her heart she's been an amazing daughter in the time of need and has stepped up more than any teenager should have to experience... ❤️
I appreciate those who have helped and praying for those who can help... I went back into surgery on Wednesday 8/21... and really could use all the prayers and support possible... I'm not one to ask for help but this is a very difficult situation for me and I'm grateful for the friends and family I have that have shown their support...❤️
Hey everybody... this is extremely hard for me and never did I think I'd need this kind of help... I'm Sandy Vickers-Merchant and within the last 6 months I've been through so many ups and downs...diagnosing what the pain in my leg and hip was that I had and to find out that I had to have a total hip replacement at the age of 46...well that was not expected...doctor looked at the MRI and said that my hip was literally fixing to collapse and surgery was the only option and had to be soon... so we made the decision for June 17th...surgery was successful and the first 5 weeks of recovery were great and then somehow I dislocated my hip just getting out of the chair...trip to the ER but it had successfully went in on its own and I was sent home for muscle recover...and now here I am again 3 weeks later...with it dislocating again but this time it was an ambulance ride to the ER and being knocked out & it taking 3 guys to put it back in place...I'm following up with the doctor next week to find out what's causing this and praying not another surgery...
Growing up I watched my parents have medical issues but never really knew what it entailed on the financial side of living... but now I know and it's very difficult especially being a single mom and the economy the way it is...I am a very independent person but this is something I can no longer do on my own... even though I have medical insurance the bills are continuing to show up...I am grateful for any help that anyone is able to offer...I've prayed for making the right decision and I'm definitely praying for better days ahead...
