Help Sandy "Mick" MacNeil while in hospital

My name is Sarah MacNeil and I am Sandy’s cousin and neighbor. Sandy is a fixture in the Christmas Island community, he has given his time to every local organization that has ever asked for a volunteer and even more who didn’t ask. He is always willing to help out his neighbors or friends and for many years assisted numerous households to ensure the elderly or sick had everything they needed or just made sure they had a chance to talk to someone that day. Now he needs our support. As some of you may know Sandy has been experiencing medical issues for several years. Sandy has a twisted esophagus which was making it difficult for him to swallow solids and liquids. Things became much worse this winter and Sandy was unable to return to work at the Highland Village and he lacked the strength to complete his normal day to day tasks. Sandy has been back and forth to the doctors regularly while awaiting additional tests. Last week doctors finally admitted Sandy to hospital and he will be there for a considerable amount of time while doctors address his nutrition needs and get him ready for treatment. Sandy has been without a wage for a number of months and Mary Lucina must take time off work to travel to visit Sandy in hospital and attend appointments with him. We're asking Sandy’s friends and neighbors if they can support him as he undergoes this medical challenge. For those who do not want to donate through the go fund me platform but wish to contribute, you may drop these off at the Christmas Island post office in an envelope addressed to “Sandy".
