Many of you know Sandy LeClear. She’s the woman with the fearless style, the warm laugh, and the magic touch behind the chair. For decades, she has helped us feel beautiful, confident, and seen. She is self-employed, fiercely independent, and one of the hardest-working people we know. Sandy was the very first person I met when I moved to Fort Wayne four years ago. She welcomed me with such kindness that she quickly became more than a stylist — she became my friend, my safe place, my Fort Wayne bestie.
If you know Sandy, you know this: She would give a stranger the shirt off her back. She has always undercharged for her work — even when I’ve told her again and again she deserves to charge more. She just smiles and says she wants to take care of her people. Now it’s our turn to take care of her.
Recently, Sandy was hospitalized with sepsis. It was sudden. It was serious. And while she is recovering — thankfully — recovery takes time. And when you’re self-employed, time off doesn’t just mean rest. It means lost income. It means bills piling up. It means rent and utilities that don’t wait for healing.
We are hoping to give Sandy breathing room — to help cover medical bills and basic living expenses while she regains her strength and gets back behind the chair doing what she loves. If you can give, it matters. And if you can’t give right now, please share. This isn’t charity. This is community. This is about giving Sandy what she has given so many of us for years: care, steadiness, generosity — and dignity. Let’s show her she’s not alone. Every dollar helps. Every share helps. Thank you for your support.
