I am raising funds for Sandy, my African Spurred tortoise and my child. I got her when she was only three months old, and now she is 6 going on 7. I have cared for her since she was smaller than the size of my palm, and I have always dreamed of growing old with my gigantic tortoise. I have loved every moment with her. She is such a wonderful pet and child to have, and I would not trade her for anything in the world. Recently, Sandy was attacked by a neighbor’s dog and bitten multiple times. She suffered serious wounds, with exposed tissue and bone, and now she needs emergency veterinary care right away. Her treatment includes X-rays, antibiotics, and stitches, and I am doing everything I can to get her the help she needs to heal.

Seeing her like this makes me feel awful and very sad, and I cannot even believe I am typing this. I just want to support her the best I can. These funds will help cover Sandy’s emergency vet bills and support her recovery afterward. They will also help me create a safer enclosure so no other animal can hurt her again, provide fresh vegetables, and make sure she has a comfortable place to stay indoors while I watch over her healing. I will also need supplies like diapers and bandages to help care for her during recovery. My emergency savings were already used for my own emergency surgery, and now I have a screw in my hand, so this fundraiser will help me continue supporting Sandy the best I can.
