No one can prepare you for losing everything, especially when it includes a beloved pet. Sandy and Glyn have been displaced due to a house fire, not only did they lose their home and everything in it, they lost part of their family, William( their beloved Saluki)

They are still both in shock and processing this great loss.

This is so fresh and there is no clear idea on all the total damage and loss. Anything you are able to contribute to help bring hope and healing to them in this time of tragedy and uncertainty is greatly appreciated. A little goes a long way!

"On Monday, we had a house fire and our house is uninhabitable. We were not home when the fire started. Glyn had only left for a short time to fill the truck with gas. When he returned home, the kitchen was on fire. And our William was still inside.

Glyn went into the house to try to save him. He found him and carried him out of the fire, sustaining smoke and carbon monoxide exposure himself in the process. But our beautiful boy was already gone. And that is the part of this that has completely broken our hearts.

We lost our home and essentially everything we own. There is extensive damage, and right now we still don’t know what is salvageable. But those are things. William was our family.

Our beautiful Saluki. Our adventure companion. Our hiking buddy. The one who was woven into our everyday lives and so many of our happiest memories. A house can eventually be rebuilt. Things can eventually be replaced. William cannot.

Knowing that Glyn tried so desperately to get to him and carried him out of that house is something I don’t even have the words for right now. He loved that dog so deeply. We both did. Our hearts are beyond broken.

Honestly, at this point, we are simply trying to figure out our next step. Where we are going to live. What can be saved. What needs to happen with the house. And how to begin navigating a life that suddenly looks completely different than it did a few days ago. And through all of this, we are being reminded just how blessed we are.

We have a community that loves us. The messages, phone calls, offers of places to stay, offers of help, food, clothing and simply people asking, “What do you need?” have been overwhelming. We feel so incredibly held, even in the middle of something that feels impossible.

To my Solar Power Health community, I will be back. Soundbaths, yoga, astrology and the work I love so deeply will continue. I just need some time to figure out what is salvageable, what instruments and equipment survived, and where my offerings will be held moving forward.

Once we have assessed the full extent of the damage and have a clearer picture of what comes next, I will keep everyone updated.

Right now, we are grieving.

We are holding each other close.

And we are taking this one step at a time.
