Help Sandy Fight High-Grade Cancer, Emergency Surgery Needed

Hi everyone,
This is one of the most painful things I’ve ever had to share.

Over the past month, Sandy has been suffering in ways no pet should. It has been heartbreaking and exhausting, watching him struggle, watching him be uncomfortable, and feeling completely helpless while trying to stay strong for him. This past week has been especially brutal. Ever since we received his diagnosis, it has felt like our world has been turned upside down.

Sandy has been diagnosed with a high grade mast cell tumor, which is aggressive and unpredictable. Right now, the doctors don’t yet know if the cancer has spread to vital organs like his liver or spleen & that can only be determined later through ultrasound and biopsies. What they do know is that time matters.

The first and most critical step to give Sandy a fighting chance is an immediate front-leg amputation. This surgery is necessary to stop the cancer from spreading further and to relieve the pain he’s already endured. Without it, the risk of rapid progression is extremely high.

Sandy is not just my dog, he is part of our family. He’s been a part of our everyday life in the smallest, most meaningful way. He’s always waiting at the door, sitting with us when we needed comfort, and somehow always sensing when something was wrong. Seeing him go through pain while still wagging his tail and trusting us has been unbearable. He doesn’t understand what’s happening. He just knows his family is there for him and we owe it to him to do everything we can to help him.

The surgery is urgent, and the total cost is close to $10,000. That leaves heavy financial burden that our family cannot manage alone.

Choosing to amputate his leg has shattered our heart, but the doctors have assured us that dogs can live full, happy, pain-free lives on three legs. Sandy still has so much love to give and so much life left to live since he is only 6 years old. If we can get him through this. We never imagined having to ask for help like this. Any donation, no matter how small or big, will help Sandy get the care he desperately needs right now. And if you’re unable to donate, sharing his story means more than you know.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for standing with us during the hardest moment of our lives. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us fight for Sandy.
