Dear Friends and Family,

This is not an easy message for me to write, but I want to share honestly about what the past several months have been like for me.

I have been navigating a difficult season both financially and personally. Some of the challenges were circumstances beyond my control, and some were the result of my own lack of planning. I take responsibility for that, and I’m now working to rebuild and move forward as responsibly as I can.

Several years ago, many of you supported me when I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a plasma cell cancer. Because of your kindness, encouragement, and generosity, I was able to access the specialists, testing, and clinical trials that helped me reach stability in my health. I will never forget the compassion that carried me through that time. Today I am thankfully stable, though I still require regular monitoring with bloodwork every three months as well as periodic MRIs, PET scans, and bone marrow biopsies to keep watch over my condition.

While my health is stable, life has brought another difficult challenge. I am currently without steady work and in the process of navigating bankruptcy while trying to meet both my medical needs and the everyday needs of my family. I have been piecing together substitute and temporary work whenever possible; and even with the generosity of Jim, my parents and other family members, the gap between my income and my expenses has become overwhelming. Medical costs, housing costs and basic bills that accumulated during this period of unemployment have become very difficult to manage.

With humility, I am reaching out to ask for help. I have created this fundraiser in hopes of building a small bridge while I continue searching for stable employment and work to regain financial footing. The support will help cover essential expenses during this transition and allow me to focus on rebuilding responsibly.
