Help Sandra & Jose Rebuild After Devastating Fire

We are asking for your support following a fire in our apartment.

On May 1st, because of neglect by management, our apartment caught fire due to faulty wiring and our lives were upended. Almost immediately we had to leave our home of 16 Years along with our dog Scoob, who is dealing with anxiety after this traumatic event.

We’re processing the emotional toll of starting over, in addition to the reminder of what we lost. My wife has been feeling anxiety since that day when she had to run out of the apartment with our dog, watching from outside as she saw the devastation of what was happening inside our apartment.

We spent a few nights at a hotel where Red Cross set us up at, while we made sense of everything, but due to the expense this could not be a long-term arrangement.

Many of our treasured belongings and possessions, irreplaceable mementos filled with memories from our relationship and our life together, as well those of our parents and family were all ruined in an instant.

In the midst of this with the help of the Red Cross, we have reached out to various agencies that help veterans such as myself and people with multiple sclerosis (my wife) for help in finding an apartment as well as with increased expenses.

We’re currently staying with family while we look for an apartment to call home. We come to you humbly to ask for help. Your donation will help us pay for necessities, a storage unit to keep what we were able to salvage secure, expenses, as well as help us rebuild our lives once we’ve found our new home.

We are grateful to be alive. Because of our faith in God we are able to stay strong.
