Hi, my name is Joanne and I'm fundraising for my friend of over 20 years Sandra Caudel who has been fighting colon cancer since August of 2023.
Sandra is an amazing wife, mother, friend, musician, teacher, RVT (registered veterinary technician), and so much more. She hides her pain to continue to be present for her family and to all the young musicians that she has inspired within her daughter's school band. But she is spending too much time stressing financially instead of focusing on her family and healing. Her beautiful family needs our help so let me run you through her journey so far….
Her journey:
- By the end of August 2023, she had surgery to place a ileostony bag and was hospitalized for 11 days.
- Adjusting to the new way of life with the bag. But with her veterinary tech skills, she rocked it!
- October 4th radiation treatments began
- Nov-Dec Oral chemo started at a higher dose
- Jan 3rd chemo infusions began once every 3 weeks along with oral chemo
- February she got Covid which pushed back a treatment
- April 3rd she receives her last chemo infusion
- 1st surgery is in June to remove the tumor
- 2nd Surgery will be needed to reverse the ileostomy bag
Where the funds would go;
- Crucial supplies the insurance company won't cover
- Meds and chemo pills that are $250 every 3 weeks
- Multiple Hospital/ER visits
- 2 ambulance rides at 3 grand each
- 2 upcoming surgeries
- Travel expense
- And all the things needed in-between
