Help Sandor walk again
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
This is a hopeful plea for an incredible young man, Sándor Kupás, who is facing unimaginable
challenges after a tragic accident. At just 18 years old, Sándor is fighting to regain his mobility and
independence after a freak accident left him at risk of being permanently paralysed. What makes his
story even more heart-breaking is the devastating loss of his father (a childhood friend of mine), who
passed away suddenly just a few weeks ago, leaving behind Sándor, his mother, and his three
younger siblings.
On 13 July Sándor’s and his family’s world was turned upside down when a freak accident while
managing a tractor and some load left him with life threatening neck injuries. Thanks to the
incredible paramedics and hospital staff Sándor survived but he is at serious risk of being
permanently paralysed from the neck down.
But there is hope. Specialists have recommended an intensive rehabilitation program that could give
Sándor a chance at moving his arms and legs again, and maybe even walking again. However, this
treatment is expensive and beyond what the family can afford. His mother, now a single parent, is
not only grieving the sudden loss of her husband but also caring for Sándor and his three younger
siblings. The emotional and financial weight is more than any family should have to bear alone.
That’s why I am reaching out to you today—because I believe that, together, we can give Sándor the
chance he deserves. In addition to our prayers, we can help relieve some of the financial burden on
his family and make sure that Sándor gets the specialised care and rehabilitation he needs to have a
fighting chance at walking again.
I feel deeply compelled to help this young man and his family, not only because of the tragedy they
are enduring but also because of the personal connection I have to them. I knew Sándor‘s father
well; we grew up together in my grandparents’ village (Bözöd), where I spent many summers.
Your donations will go directly towards covering the cost of Sándor’s rehabilitation, medical
equipment, and any additional care he may require. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make
a difference bring Sándor one step closer to recovery.
Please consider donating to this GoFundMe and sharing Sándor’s story with your friends and
networks. Let’s show Sándor and his family that they are not alone during this difficult time.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Together, we
can help Sándor stand tall once again.
With gratitude,
