Hello Go Fund me community. I'm writing to ask for help for a dear friend and father of two young girls who tragically fell out of a the third story of a building on April 12th in San Francisco and is in dire need of help paying for medical expenses. Like many Americans, Sandon was uninsured. Medical expenses in this country are extremely high and without any support, Sandon will lose his home and become extremely indebted. Because of the intensity of the accident, he will most likely need much support post surgery as his lesions are extensive. He will be unable to work and provide for his family for time to come. His fiancé Tyler Minnis is in the hospital with him, by his side praying for him.
I am currently sitting in a waiting room while he is in Radiology as they realized he had internal bleeding. His family and fiancé are distraught but the only thing I could think of to help was writing this plea and hoping for any kind of help from the community :,(
I will post updates as soon as we get them. Please pray for Sandon.
Update #1.
I've also learned that Sandon's home flooded 1 week before his fall. He had just returned to Oregon from brothers wedding in L.A with his two daughters. Planning to take them home to their mother and return to work in San Francisco. Only to find that his home was completely flooded. Since there was/is extensive damage, he then had to remain in Oregon for 7 more days. He was supposed to be working in San Francisco but lost more than a week of work saving his home in Oregon . Becuase of the flooding he was then unable to make the rent payment for the San Francisco house on time. Although he was able to contact Gordon Property Management to let them know he would be making the payment late. Upon his return to San Francisco he discovered a 3 day pay or quit eviction notice despite the fact that he had openly communicated about the flooding of his home in Oregon and made them aware that he was going to be late this month. Unfortunately 2 days after his return to San Francisco is when he tragically fell 35 feet onto concrete. Which placed him in the hospital indefinitely. Within 8 hours of being hospitalized while he was undergoing blood loss surgery. All of this left Tyler terrified. His brother arrived in San Francisco from L.A and coordinated the payments of Sandon's immediate financial needs. Between him and a few of Sandon's other family and close friends, all of his impending bills were all paid immediately for this month. But with each month that comes it will continue to get financially harder through out his recovery.
Update #2.
Since the creation of this acccount, Sandon has had 5 surgeries .
Upon arrival and examination it was determined that Sandon had broken 13 bones, he also had immense internal bleeding and massive damage to his face and mouth.
The first of the 5 surgeries was Friday April 12th. Upon arriving at SF General & Trauma Center he immediately had a 6 hour procedure to stop the internal bleeding in his spleen. The next day Saturday April 13th he had a 10 hour procedure on his; right hip, left shin, bottom three vertebrae, right femur, and right foot. During which they replaced his left shin and right femur with titanium alloy. They also inserted pins and screws into his right hip. He remained in ICU until Tuesday night. They transfered him into a Regular patient room and scheduled his next surgery for Thursday April 18th. That operation was on his right heel, that surgery took 8 hours. During wich they implanted a titanium alloy plate in the bottom of his right heel and connected it to his ankle with 13 screws. On friday he had his Jaw surgery. He had his jaw wired shut and implanted 2 titanium plates in his upper and lower jaw . That surgery also took 8 hours. Because of the impact and the damage to his jaw they couldn't do dental surgery first which then left him with 4 exposed roots from the amount of teeth he lost on impact and the ones they had to extract immediately upon arriving in the ER. His mouth will remain wired shut for one month. The pain he is experiencing non-stop is extreme to say the least. On top of his inability to walk or move around freely he is also unable to open his mouth and can barely speak. He is also unable to eat or drink. He is being fed a blenderized diet typically by a syringe or a small tube that can be inserted in a hole from his lost teeth. And that will be his diet for another 3 1/2 weeks... His fiancé Tyler is feeding him and caring for him every day and night. He is so grateful for the amount of support and love he has received not only from people donating but the visits, and the messages sent as well. I will continue to post updates as they progress.
