Help Sandipan complete his Masters
I have successfully completed 3 out of 4 semesters of Master Industrial Design program at the Royal Academy of Arts (KABK) in The Hague, Netherlands.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity so far. KABK is a top tier institute in Arts and Design and highly competitive to get in. (Only 10 students world-wide were selected for my program)
The experience so far has helped me immensely to shape my design practice and position my work in a professional context. I have exhibited in multiple exhibitions including the Dutch Design Week 2019. Here's a video of my last exhibiton: TextileLab Amsterdam Waag
I've recently been selected for an Artist Residency Porgram in Rotterdam : V2 Lab Summer 2020 .
But there’s a problem
At the moment, I am not able to fund my graduation project along with the living costs. I had managed to cover the living costs entirely by working part time before the COVID-19 outbreak. Due to my health issues, I have limited my current outdoor activities to only necessary ones and had to stop working.
Here’s what I am doing about it
I have applied for every possible option out there – from scholarships, bursaries, to emergency grants and bank loans, and after failing to secure the funds needed – I am now turning to crowdfunding, as I see it as the only way to complete my degree. Currently there is only one scholarship for Non-EU students - Holland Scholarship which is awarded once during the first semester. I have completed 3 semesters of my studies with the help of small fundings and a student loan to cover the tuition fees which is 3-4 times higher for Non-EU students. The Dutch school system does not award any other scholarships, which is making my path harder.
Studying at KABK has been a privilege and a joy beyond my expectations. I am highly motivated and determined to complete my final year and can't wait to start my residency program thereafter.
