Her name is Sandi, and she’s not just a dog, she’s family. She came into my life unexpectedly, but in truth, it feels like fate. On March 20, 2025, I was at home playing a video game and having a conversation with my older brother. Suddenly, I heard a strange noise outside. I live on the third floor of an apartment complex, so I brushed it off at first. But when I heard it again, something told me to check. That’s when I saw her, Sandi, just wandering around, scared, confused, and completely alone. She looked like she didn’t know where she was or how she got there. I was flooded with emotions, but one thing was clear: I couldn't just walk away. I brought her inside, gave her food, and went around the complex trying to find her owner. No one claimed her. That’s when I decided, if no one else would step up for her, I would. At first, everything seemed fine. But after a few days, I noticed something was off, Sandi started breathing strangely, with heavy wheezing and odd sounds. After multiple vet visits and X-rays, we found out she needs a scoping procedure to determine the exact cause and fix the issue. I work hard, but I simply can’t afford the full cost on my own. I’ve tried every route I could before turning to this. But Sandi deserves a shot at a healthy, happy life. It may seem like I saved Sandi that night, but the truth is, she saved me. At the time, I was going through a lot mentally and emotionally. Her presence, her loyalty, and the love she gives me every day reminded me that even in the darkest moments, there’s still light. She’s become my emotional support, my companion, my family. Now, I’m facing the heartbreaking possibility of giving her up, not because I want to, but because I don’t want her to suffer due to my financial limitations. The thought of losing her, after everything we’ve been through, would break me in ways I’m not sure I could recover from.
