What was meant to be a relaxing vacation to their favourite place on earth - for my dear friend Sandee Rosien and her husband Mike – to make lasting memories has become a tragic tale. After only a few days in Ireland, on Friday April 10th Sandee and Mike were involved in a serious multi-vehicle accident where EMS had to extract them from the vehicle. Sandee has sustained a broken ankle and has multiple bruises and lacerations and Mike is still in hospital with 3 broken vertabrae, 4 broken ribs and may be facing surgery and extended medical care - transportation home will be an issue, and we're still waiting to learn more after additional testing happens early this week. As many in Ottawa and the Valley know, Sandee (Sandee's Country Kitchen) is a self-employed local business owner that has been serving her community going on 15 years now and is celebrating 2 years this summer at 2 Elgin Street in Arnprior Ontario. Her business is a family affair with her husband Mike helping out however he can while recently being diagnosed with Dementia. Sandee’s two daughters and grandchildren help out and Sandee's amazing team at the cafe rely on her daily. One daugher has left to support Sandee under these trying times. We are expecting months of recovery and care for both when/if they are medically cleared to travel. I truly feel in my heart that this amazing and loving family could use our support to recover, travel home after all immediate needs are met, for proper care and rehabilitation and time missed from her passion, community and friends.
