We just finished all the mixing of the album and next week it’ll go to be mastered. I am so happy with how it’s coming out. You guys are honestly going to flip! It has left me in tears more than once. Well, that’s what I look for in music, to be moved.

It’s been such a trip because as I said before the cost of it is great but the rewards are even greater!

Here’s the story

During the pandemic, with limited access to public venues and my band, I didn’t stop writing. It all kept coming and I spent months practicing alone. This got me thinking there may be other ways for me to share my music than what I have spent years doing so far, other ways of arranging, other musicians that could make a bigger difference or impact in that sharing.

I realized the time was right to venture out and explore what more was available to me, which meant working with an award-winning producer, studio musicians, new and fresh concepts, and objective ideas from outside my usual sphere. I’ve always believed in my songs, and now through the contribution of others, they are able to rise to be their best self.

This solo album project presents a snapshot of what life has been like for me during the pandemic, through the BLM movement, through political unrest, through upheaval in family dynamics, and everything else we’ve all been through since early 2020. The songs are intensely personal as I relish the hope, and suffer the despair of what it means to be human. That’s where I am and I’m thrilled to be here.

Producing, recording, and mixing the album is award-winning Jeffrey Alan Berkley at Ohm Grown Studio. He has been a joy to work with. Amelia Sarkisian was the associate engineer and totally on the ball.

There was a point when we were deep into it that first night, that I wished like hell I could clone myself and send the other me home so I could stay there forever. That’s the highest high there is!

Here’s the why I’m asking for help

Like I said up at the top, all of this takes more money than I had planned for, and yet, the momentum is in play and it must happen. I’m hoping to be able to recoup the money I’ve already spent on the project, as well as fund the rest of it through to the release, and I may even press a few vinyls. From the studio time, the producer, the musicians, all of it, it’s costly and yet more than worth it! What I hear coming out of it is so beautiful, beyond words for me really, and you’re just going to want to be there with me. I can’t wait for you all to hear it!
