Help Sanaia Hightower Get to Howard University!

Hi, my name is Sanaia Hightower. Recently, I got accepted to Howard University for their medical program to become an Anesthesiologist starting in the fall of 2023. Unfortunately, I have until July to come up with funds. Financial aid, grants and scholarships have not been enough to cover tuition. I am short 20,000 dollars. If I don't come up with the funds, I cannot attend the college of my dreams; It will be extremely heartbreaking. I come from a single-parent household, and my little brother will still need care when I am off to college. Obtaining these funds is not feasible for my family right now.

Currently, my grade point average is 4.5. I have worked hard in my high school years to maintain the GPA to attend Howard University. I will be the first in my family to attend an HBCU. Also, I am excited to instill their values and take advantage of the economic opportunities they have to offer. I find medicine to be challenging and exciting, which is why I want to pursue a degree in healthcare. Becoming an anesthesiologist has been a passion of mine since middle school, and I am dedicated to the mission and the journey along the way. Making a difference in patients' lives by performing clinical and surgical procedures to assure their safety, and minimizing pain before surgery, will be a dream come true. I have a caring heart. I love helping people and want to give patients the best experience possible. Role models such as Kamala Harris, Toni Morrison, and Chadwick Boseman have been huge inspirations to attend such a prestige university because of their mind-blowing success. Also, Howard offers robust research and hands-on training opportunities in the medical field that will help me gain the experience to make a huge impact in people's lives.

Any donations I receive will pay for the remaining of my tuition which is again 20,000 dollars. The funds will cover the classes, room and board books, etc. I will continue to apply for scholarships, however, it has not been easy. I appreciate any donations towards my tuition. I will give back by volunteering at nursing homes, feeding the homeless and tutoring children who need help in math.
