Help Samus Walk Again: Fund Her ACL Surgery

Hi everyone,

Atley and Chelsea here; we are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for help for our funny, goofy, sweet baby Samus. Within the past few months, she has been having consistent issues with her back legs, which has left her struggling to walk, move, and enjoy life the way she used to. After a few visits with her wonderful main veterinarian and an orthopedic appointment with SportsVet; her diagnosis is two fully torn ACLs in both legs.

Samus has been such an important part of our life; she has been there for us as our rock for the past 8 years and she brings endless joy and comfort. She is the sweetest girl and loves everyone; especially her kitties. It’s definitely heartbreaking to see her in pain, unable to run, go on walks, and do all of the mischievous things that lovingly annoy us. We want nothing more than for her to have a comfortable, healthy rest of her life.

The recommended surgery for both ACL tears is quite costly at an estimated price of $8,600 combined for both legs. This is an amount that’s difficult for us to cover on our own due to the current economy. We’re doing everything we can to give Samus the care she 100% deserves, and we’re humbly asking for any assistance from our friends, family, and community to help us cover this expense.

The surgery (TPLO, Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy), is the most advanced, newest and most stable of all ACL repairs. This technique eliminates the femur from sliding off the tibia and limits the rotation of the tibia. It is the best procedure to prevent further damage to the knee. It will permanently stabilize her knee joints for the rest of her life. This is the gold standard of all ACL repairs.
