On July 6, 2025, Sam and Kylee were driving home from a camping trip with their two beloved dogs when tragedy struck. Without warning and out of nowhere, a Tesla barreled through a dead-end road at nearly 100 mph and launched directly into I-25 traffic. It slammed into the passenger side of Sam and Kylee's SUV and camper, forcing their vehicle into a violent rollover. The sheer force of the crash tore apart their vehicle and left their lives forever changed.

Both Sam and Kylee survived, but not without lasting injuries. Kylee came within inches of her life and is still recovering from painful bruising, an abdominal hematoma, a TBI, and hip injuries that prevent her from returning to work. Samuel suffers from persistent back and knee pain. Heartbreakingly, one of their dogs, Kylee’s Emotional Support Animal, did not survive the crash.

As if that wasn’t enough, the aftermath has been overwhelming. Because the crash involved a fatality, the police investigation has stretched on for nearly two months. Their vehicle—completely destroyed—remains impounded as evidence. They're still required to make monthly payments on a car they may never see again. 

Without a release from investigators, they can’t even submit an insurance claim to replace it. 

Alongside that, almost all of Sam and Kylee's belongings in the car at the time of the accident are impounded as well.

Now this young couple is trapped in an impossible situation:

• Kylee’s temporary disability benefits have expired, leaving her without income while she heals.
  
• They have one vehicle, but bills for the impounded one keep coming. The belongings inside the they have no access to.
  
• Medical expenses, everyday costs of living, and the grief of losing a beloved pet continue to pile up.
  

Life is already expensive and challenging—but for Sam and Kylee, it has suddenly become harder, costlier, and more uncertain through no fault of their own. They’re doing everything they can while their legal case moves forward, but they urgently need help just to keep their heads above water.
