Help Samoa the Kitten Fight for Her Life

Hi, my name is Christine and I saved this kitten along with her siblings. Samoa is a 5-6 month old kitten who came to us with her two siblings about one month ago. She was severely underweight and initially thought to be only 3 months old based on weight. Shortly after intake, she required hospitalization for ataxia and lethargy. She perked up throughout the night and was sent back to foster for around-the-clock care. She required rechecks with our primary vet as her abdomen was extremely bloated and uncomfortable. She underwent an extensive fecal panel, bloodwork, x-rays, and ultrasound. Her imaging came back very interesting but not quite conclusive. Her fecal test came back positive for a rare and contagious protozoa requiring further treatment. She began vomiting in the last few days and crashing last night. She is having difficulty regulating her temperature and is requiring around-the-clock care at the ER, hospitalized for treatment of this parasite. She is now getting the appropriate medicine and we are praying this sweet little girl pulls through. We are fighting for Samoa and hope to get her to a healthy point so she can be adopted.
