I’m reaching out on behalf of my amazing mom and her dog Sammy, who recently went through something no pet parent ever wants to face.

Her sweet dog — her loyal companion and best friend — was diagnosed with a cancerous lump in her front leg. Unfortunately, due to the tumor being surrounded by tendons and ligaments, it couldn’t safely be removed. The only option to save her life was a full amputation of the leg.

This has been an incredibly emotional and financial journey for my mom. While the surgery was successful, the costs have been overwhelming — not only for the operation itself, but also for follow-up care, medications, rehab, and the long-term needs of a three-legged dog.

Anyone who knows my mom knows how deeply she loves and cares for her kids, and Sammy is no exception. She would never ask for help, but I’m doing it for her.
