*Update*
We are sad to say that Sammy passed away last night. He was with my mom and me and transitioned peacefully. I am overjoyed by the donations that have come in from family, friends, and distant friends (because I don't want to call a donor I don't know a stranger). Each gift filled us with love and hope. Thank you so much to all of our donors, both on this platform and through Venmo. We will use the funds to cover his large vet bill and will keep this fundraiser open to help cover costs associated with his cremation.
Samson, or Sammy as we call him, is the neighborhood sweetheart. Since the day we brought him home from the animal shelter in Doral, he became the perfect addition to our family. Family, friends, and even strangers instantly fall in love with his calm and sweet nature. We've met so many wonderful neighbors through Sammy on our daily walks we used to take through Country Walk. Until recently, Sammy was a happy and healthy companion and member of our family. Unfortunately, Sammy recently got very sick and is struggling to fight off an intestinal parasite. He has rapidly declined but we, as well as our vet team, believe he can fight this off. It has been heartbreaking to watch him go from his usual energetic self to needing constant care.
The money raised will go directly to Sammy's ever-rising vet bils, which include the tests and screenings that helped us get to the diagnosis, the treatment medication, daily vitamin shots, and antinausea shots to encourage him to eat. We are hopeful that this course of treatment will bring him back to his normal, happy, and healthy self. Sammy means so much to our family and our community, and we are doing everything we can to help him recover.
To our neighbors, friends, family, and anyone who has ever experienced the love of a pet: your support means the world to us and to Sammy. Please share this with anyone who might want to help. We are hopeful that he will pull through if we keep up this regiment of medicine and vitamins. Thank you for considering a donation and for keeping Sammy in your thoughts and prayers.
