Help Samiyah Make the USA TEAM ! (June 2022)

Since the beginning of my collegiate career, it has always been my dream to pursue track and field post collegiately while also working in the mental health field. After getting my degree and finishing my collegiate career I was at a stand still and was unsure of what my next chapter in life was going to look like. My collegiate career in the sport did not exactly go as I had planned it and I was beginning to question my abilities in the sport for the future. After sitting down and thinking hard about what I wanted to do, I decided to continue my love in the sport. However, I knew that this time around would be a little more challenging. Starting my days early at work and ending my nights late at the track definitely gave me a different perspective and respect for athletes like myself who continue their careers with on extra assistance or money contracts. Currently, I am working as a rehab clinician full time with elementary school students, helping them learn social and emotional skills. On the track I have been working really hard to make the qualifying standard to compete this summer at the highest elite level. Recently I jumped the standard mark and now I am on my way to compete in the USATF Toyota Outdoor Championship in Eugene, Oregon. I am currently unattached; therefore, I will need to cover my own expenses for training, meet registrations, travel and meals. I am so grateful that God has got me this far, but I know that in order to accomplish my goals I am going to need to help along the way. I am determined and have faith that I can do this with your help!
