I’m Jessica— a single mom of two amazing girls, Samiya and Parker. Samiya has been dancing for years at Yucaipa Dance and is part of their performing group (YDPG). Every year, she works so hard to grow as a dancer, and now something incredible is officially happening… her studio is headed to New York City in July 2026 with 42nd Street Tours!
While in New York, Samiya will participate in a professional performance experience, take a dance workshop, explore the city with her dance family, and make memories she’ll carry for the rest of her life. Parker, who is a dancer herself, will be joining us too, so both of my girls get to share this once-in-a-lifetime adventure together.
Thanks to the love and support we’ve already received, our $750 deposit is fully paid — and together we’ve raised $1,360 (as of 11/17). That support has meant everything. Our remaining tour balance is $4,483, due in three installments:
— 33% in January 2026
— 33% in March 2026
— Final balance in May 2026
I also just paid $1,593.03 for our flights. The tour package covers hotel, transportation in NYC, select meals, and Samiya’s workshop and performance fees — but doesn’t include breakfasts, lunches, additional food for both girls, or our transportation around the city outside the tour schedule. Those costs add up quickly in New York, so I’m estimating around $700 total for the week.
Because of all this, I decided to update our fundraising goal from the original $6,500 to $6,800, which reflects the real total cost of the trip after flights, the updated tour balance, and meals/transportation for the week. I want everything to be transparent and accurate so people know exactly what their support is going toward.
I’m working and saving as much as I can while going through school, but this trip is more than I can manage on my own. That’s where this GoFundMe truly helps us. Every donation or share brings us closer to giving Samiya an experience she has worked so hard for— and allowing Parker to tag along too.
Dance has become Samiya’s passion. It’s helped her build confidence, find her community, and light up from the inside out. Your support means the world to us and helps both of my girls keep growing, shining, and creating memories that will last forever.
