Help Sami's Family in Their Time of Need
Hi, I'm Sami! My husband Raymond was recently admitted to the ICU on life support. He was intubated, with pneumonia and kidney failure.
I am trying to support our household with my small tutoring business, while also being at his bedside.
Due to the nature of my job, I do not receive a paycheck if I do not work. I do not qualify for paid time off. My husband also does not receive an income at this moment.
We have a 3 year old son and 4 pets. My mother also lives in the home, and has limited income.
I have been attempting to work and be at the hospital, but it is becoming very difficult. I'm unable to focus with my students, and I'm feeling unsafe driving to my clients and the hospital, due to being so sleep deprived. My son is too young to join me at the hospital, so having to work is also depriving him of having time with either of his parents.
**To top it off, my only means of transportation just broke down. I have no way to work or to visit at the hospital.
My mom's car is also out of service. We are stranded at home. **
